Experienced integrative counsellor based in the Lake District, Cumbria

About me

I’m an Integrative Counsellor, and whilst my initial training was Person Centred I have gathered a range of “tools” that help to unlock our stuck emotions. My aim is to offer a relaxed, safe space for us to work together, in order to assist you to make sense of what has happened to you, come to a deeper understanding of yourself, and find the necessary freedom and healing whatever the challenges you have faced. I have experience of working with individual adults and couples: and work with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, abuse, bereavement and relationship breakdown, as well as the journey to self awareness and acceptance.

I am also a trained Spiritual Director and am pleased to offer spiritual accompaniment as a journey in itself, or if desired, as part of our therapeutic relationship. My faith is rooted in the Christian Contemplative tradition, and I appreciate working with people of all faiths or none. I have the joy of living and working in the South Lakes

With over 14 years experience, I have an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling, am registered with the Association of Christian Counsellors (ACC) and work to their professional and ethical framework. I receive regular Supervision with a registered Supervisor and I undertake regular professional development. I have full professional indemnity and public liability insurance.

There are times in all our lives when life can feel full of difficulty and struggle, and the challenges seem too great. Or sometimes we simply feel that we’ve lost our way, our hope or our peace. Counselling is a talking therapy that offers a safe space in an empathic non-judgmental environment where you can process what is going on for you; and together we explore what you need to bring healing, freedom or a way forward.

Ways To Get Hold Of Me.

I provide a free initial consultation. This first meeting is not intended to be a therapy session, but an introduction and an opportunity to see if we are happy to work together. It will take around 30 to 45 mins, and it will give you an opportunity to share a brief overview of why you are considering counselling, and ask any questions that you might have about the counselling process.

Before the end of that first session we will also consider together appointment times and frequency. Subsequent sessions will last 60 minutes

If you choose to proceed, it is usual that we will book six sessions, after which we  then review our progress together.
